The overlord was laying on his stomach at the end of the bed, facing the TV. He was, unsurprisingly, playing one of the many video games he had amassed over the past months.
Laharl just couldn't face Flonne. Not with that hanging over them. And not with the funny sensation that filled his stomach when he was with her. He had no clue what it was. Just something filled his stomach, and made him feel almost ill. Usually followed by his face turning red and stupid looking. The entire thing was uncomfortable and she was the one causing it. Somehow.
He had eased up a bit with his avoidance since that post. Her unhappy face was even more difficult to bear. Why did she had to always look so sad? He just couldn't resist that STUPID face ( ... )

"I-I need to talk to you," she said quietly, voice nearly lost under the noise of the video game. "I- They-" She found herself unable to spit it out, or even to speak. It was too much to take in, and she couldn't even get his attention-
"Laharl-san, they want to kill the healers!"

Laharl turned his head back towards Flonne, his attention now completely on her, and his expression questioning. Had he just heard what he thought he just heard?
"W-what?"

Now that Flonne had his attention, she wasn't sure what to do with it.
"They..." she started, then figured she'd better clarify. "The people keeping us here...th-they want to make everyone into monsters, and..." Her voice faltered, growing quieter in the absence of background noise. "A-and they...they want to kill the healers so we...so we can't help people...s-so we can't stop them..."
At Harry's meeting, Flonne hadn't known the shock she was in for, and she'd been able to keep it down, to focus on the plan at hand and figure out how she could help. Now, here, repeating what she'd heard, what it meant finally sank in. Now she was scared, and visibly so.
