It had taken Spock only a small portion of his time to journey from his current residence to the Library Hotel. Strangely enough, the very creatures he was intent on studying were nowhere in sight, though there were moments during his walk that the sound of the creature's clicking could be heard ( ... )

Near wasn't too far behind Spock. He had debated whether or not to show at all, the dangers of possible crab attacks and the necessity of walking the whole way fighting with his intrigue, but eventually curiosity had won out against laziness and caution. He had managed to get his hands on a lead pipe which he carried with him, but luckily he'd had no reason to use it as he'd made his way - back to walls the whole time - to the specified location.

It was something of a relief when he finally walked up to the building, and he was glad he'd come as he was greeted with the sight of not only the mage, but a point-eared man in an unfamiliar uniform. This was shaping up to be an interesting day, and Near lived for interesting things.

"Raistlin Majere? I am Near."

Raistlin pulled back the obscuring hood of his robe, revealing the metallic skin and hourglass eyes for which he had become famed on Krynn. "Hello to the both of you," he said, bowing his head in greeting. "How fortuitous for you both to have made it. Please, follow me to my chambers. The open street is not the safest place for a gathering." Turning to face the door to the hotel, the mage clacked his staff on the cement, bringing the front doors to open wide to accept the three young men.

"This way, if you would," he invited, entering the building.

Spock tightly nodded once at the invitation, waiting for Near to proceed him as Raistlin Majere led the way through the doors. He had not expected the presence of the achromic male, though he supposed with the manifestation of orating canine units, it was not all that unusual for someone of that coloring to exist.

Nor had he expected the anomalous shape of Raistlin Majere's eyes.

This should prove interesting, Spock mused, taking in the view of the elaborately decorated lobby as they traversed through it. He could conclude that this place must have been aesthetically pleasing during the height of its peak. At the moment, however, he was much more interested in his afternoon companions, and from whence they came.

"Mr. Near," Spock started, his pace even as he continued to follow Raistlin. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Spock."
