Morning research complete, Excella had a new goal for today: To meet her 'niece'. Her new place wasn't too far from where Birkin was staying, she knew that much. She also knew that the girl was home alone at the moment.

Briefcase in one hand, Excella knocked sharply on the door three times and took a step back. Her long hair let down from its normal bun and her sunglasses securely in place, she waited for the child to at least inquire who was there.

Sherry couldn't help it, she jumped and looked at the door like it had insulted her. "Who is it?" she called in her high, tinny voice, hiding her little black radio inside the pillow and hopping up from the couch. Sherry smoothed out her green skirt and white blouse, adjusted the red headband again and hurried to the door.

The peephole was a little too high for her, so she scooted a stool over and looked outside. ...Who isthat?, she wondered and waited for the older woman to respond.

Excella stared straight ahead at the peep hole, making sure to stay back enough for the child to see her through it. Dressed more conservatively than normal, in a tight pair of jeans and a tank top underneath a lab coat, she wanted to make sure she didn't intimidate the girl.

"Excella Gionne, sweetheart," she called back in a pleasant voice, lifting her sunglasses up and smiling. "I'm a close acquaintance of your Uncle Albert's."

Sherry frowned at the woman outside her door; only special people were allowed to call her sweetheart. Not strangers, and not anyone named 'Excella'. Hmph. However, the little girl put on her best 'polite' face (as polite as an irritated Birkin ever got, anyway) and pushed her stool out of the way to open the door just enough. Her big blue eyes stared out from the three inch gap she opened.

"Hello, my father isn't in, if you're looking for him," she said gently. Sherry was impressed with the way she looked, though. Maybe when she was an adult, she'd have hair that long, too.
