Upon reading Elphaba's journal, Spin kept swinging between relief and worry. Relief that his friend hadn't vanished after all--worry that she was still in this city. Worry that she had been trapped, relief she was now safe--oh wait no, worry she was hurt.

In the end, he settled for glad she was, at this point in time, all right, and he'd get to see her. The young Agent made his way to the lobby, and caught sight of his magical friend already looking for him.

Spin smiled and gave her a wave. "Elphaba! Good to see you. You're doin' better, I take it?"

The witch of the west's face was lit by a genuine smile when she saw Spin. "I'm fine. I was mostly alright already, I just needed someone to make sure the bone healed properly." She shifted her hand around her broom awkwardly, getting used to conversation again. A month of nothing but silence unless she was singing to herself had taken its toll on her, but Elphaba was thankful it was a small one.

"How are you, Spin? I haven't managed to read all of the network posts from my absence, but I know a lot happened." The agent was one of her favorite people in the city, and she wanted to be sure he was alright. Elphaba had come to know him well enough to know that he would worry and take everything that happened on his shoulders, so while he was clearly physically okay, she had no idea how much of an emotional price he might have paid of late.

Spin gave Elphaba a wry grin. "Surviving, step at a time. Don't know how much of the mess you're aware of, but things got complicated fast." He shrugged. "Making it through, as I always do." Luckily enough, he wasn't feeling too much of the pressure at the time. The patrols were thankfully uneventful, and the city at least hadn't done anything horrible very recently.

"I had the luck of having a support group, too," he added, with a smile. "Some friends from home. Maybe you can meet 'em, they're a great bunch." Admittedly, having J around was a stressful event all its own, but you can't win them all.

That particular stressful event had been standing at the top of the stairs for the past few minutes, trying his hardest to stay silent. He hadn't believed the entry on the network when he'd seen it, but the way Rookie was talking to her-

Elphaba. Elphaba Thropp. Man, her show had gotten him into the musical theater side of things he didn't even know how many years ago, and now she was here in the flesh.

Well, this wasn't the first time he'd played it cool when something undeniably weird had turned up, and no way was this a bad thing. It was Elphaba, after all.

...and that was his cue.

He headed down the stairs, cool as could be, as though he'd just walked in on the conversation. "Oh, Rookie, I'm flattered," he grinned. Actually, he'd figured Rookie'd still be angry after the whole bell thing. Looked like he got over stuff pretty quick. He flashed that same grin to Elphaba as he reached the bottom of the stairs. "Still haven't met all his friends yet...you can call me J."
