Diego didn't take too long, heading out of the elevator with a full, steaming pot of coffee in one hand and a pair of plain white mugs in the other.
"Good to see you again," he said with a neutral smile on his face. He had a seat on the sofa and held up the mugs. "Can I interest you in a cup of coffee?"
"Diego," Kang nodded, a small smile on his face. He eyed the pot for a moment, not quite sure if he liked the smell of it, but mentally shrugged, "I haven't tried it before. Why not?"
A pause, and he asked, "You handling this alright?"
"Ha...! You don't know what you've been missing." His smile grew much wider than before and he poured one of the mugs full and passing it over to Kang. "Blend #17, sophisticated and rich. It tastes like a bouquet of flowers blooming in your mouth with a beautiful, mild bitterness... if it's too much, let me know."
Diego poured a cup of his own and sipped from it slowly, as though he had not even heard the question. "The mark of a true professional is to never stop smiling," he said finally, just when it seemed he was not going to answer. "Even when your guts are twisted up in knots."
Kang sniffed at the liquid inside the cup, snout wrinkling slightly at how strong it was, then took a sip. It was... interesting, but not too bad. He'd have to try tarbean tea when he got back to Krynn, see if he was right about them being similar.
"She's probably fine. Just keep that thought in mind," he took another small sip. "The woman's strong. I could tell that right when I met her on Roosevelt Island. But, she isn't what I wanted to discuss."
Business time.
"You've heard about what happened to Andrew Basil by now, I'd wager."
