Euphemia had been out for her bi-weekly strolls, something she had started after the cabin fever of staying cooped up in the Hotel had set in. She didn't wander far - didn't dare to really but went down the block and around, exploring what was left of this strange city.

It was refreshing, these walks. It gave her something to do and it was a perfect time to let her mind wander for a while until she was back in the safety of the Hotel. However with being so far in her thoughts, she also didn't notice Lelouch until he bumped into her, startling her out of her daydreams of home. "Hello Lelouch." She replied, pausing for the moment. It was the first time she saw him since he had been taken, there were so many things she wished to speak to him about yet with the distance he kept putting between them she didn't know where to start. "Lelouch. If you have time, may we speak?"

He closed the notebook and it disappeared into an inside pocket of his jacket. "Certainly." He glanced around, and decided the lobby's absolutely deserted state was sufficient enough. He started toward one of the sofas. "How could I refuse?" He cast her the smallest of smiles.

He seemed to relax in her presence, slowly the real him Euphemia knew and loved came to the fore. But the more he allowed his pace to slow, the more heavy the burdens he'd come to bear grew. His fragile frame was impossibly sturdy to bear this sort of load. That of the Japanese and the Black Knights was now joined by the new members of the organization, and those that had come to look to him as their way out of this city.

Euphemia smiled brilliantly at him, happy that he was even willing to chat with her for the time being. She noted him relaxing slightly, the slightest change in posture obvious from so close and she smiled even brighter.

Joining him on the sofa, she waited until both of them were settled, trying not to pick at her skirt too much. There were so many things she wanted to ask him, each tumbling though her mind until she had no idea where to start. "How have you been after what happened?" She asked, realizing it would be best to start simple. Maybe in a bit she would ask what she truly wanted to know.

Ah, that smile. The smile of the one that deserved least her punishment. It was distracting for a moment before he set to responding. "I've been better rested. It confirmed several things, as well as created new questions." Of course, he kept some things vague. "Now, I'm the same as ever." He smiled a bit and there was a bit of a teasing tone in his next statement. "I suppose it is too much to ask that you not worry so much about me?"
