Rosette didn't get it until almost noon. She was exhausted - too much going on - and had taken a day to sleep in. It was not, she'd reflected bitterly the night before, as though she had anything to do today.

Except maybe the flowers and the letter meant she did.

She'd gotten dressed quickly - she was really starting to like jeans - and had left a note for Negi and Terra letting them know she was going out. The letter Riku had written her was folded in her back pocket. She'd nearly dropped it at the last line. They'd had a fight, sure, but she hadn't considered the possibility of anything being over.

It didn't take her long to get to Bryant Park - she'd figured it was near the hotel and just headed in that direction. She paused when she saw Riku. This...well. This was it. Time to get all of this straightened out. There were still things she wanted to know.

She headed straight for him, letting silence reign until she was standing right in front of him. Then-

"Who else knows?"

Riku had gone to the park where he'd already done a little setup. He pulled a white iron chair over to an old busted metal barrel and pulled a lighter from his pocket. Using a small rusted hole in the side of the barrel, he lit some of the ancient newspapers he'd found and waited for the sticks and eventually coals to light. He expected a long, cold wait ( ... )

She'd already known about Harry's involvement - he'd told her himself, after all. No, what surprised Rosette was that Harry's name was the only name mentioned. He really had gone at this alone, hadn't he.

"That's it?" she finally replied. "Sora doesn't even know?"

She wasn't sure how she felt about that one.

Riku blinked a moment. She didn't seem at all surprised. Did he tell her? "That's it. He doesn't."

"The more people who know, the greater the risk," he said simply. "I didn't want to get anybody involved." Now what?
