It was safe to say, that even weeks after her less than graceful appearance on the scene, Tear still had some getting used to. She’d been through numerous, unfavorable situations in her life, but being thrown into an entirely new environment where most of her previous knowledge of her world didn’t transfer over to was by far at the top of things she wasn’t prepared to deal with. But she was dealing with it, to the best of her ability anyway-at least Anise had found her at the beginning. She would have found a way to get by; she wouldn’t have crumbled in distress if the younger girl hadn’t accidentally come across her and taken her in that day, but it eased her mind, a little, to know she wasn’t completely alone ( ... )

Lost in his thoughts, Luke had been utterly oblivious to Tear's presence, that is until he heard the sound of someone behind him. Or rather, the sound of, what sounded like, someone bumping into something. Turning around, he visibly perked at first seeing Tear there, although Luke's expression quickly turned confused as he wondered what had just happened. She seemed to be going back inside... Why was she blushing?

"Tear? Everything okay?" he asked her, pulling away from where he'd been situated to approach her. She had his full attention now.

At the sound of his voice, her body shifted to face him more; the girl watching him for a few moments before just as soon looking away. Hm. Of course Luke would be curious and concerned, but that was only proving to make her mess-up with the door more embarrassing. “I’m fine.” The words tumbled out quickly and only after she’d said them did she realize that wasn’t an answer to what he’d asked. “Er….everything is fine.” There. That was more believable.

She chanced a glance back at him, and once again, looked away soon after. There was a shuffle of feet as she shifted her away from the door, as if trying to disassociate herself with it. “I was just coming out here to…check on you.” Sort of anyway.

Well, she did appear to be fine at a glance, so Luke supposed it was probably true enough, but he could tell without a doubt she was embarrased over something. Tear could be hard to read sometimes and easy at others. There could be no doubt of her embarrasment. What the cause was, however, he was obviously not going to find out about, so he let it drop.

"Tear..." he uttered her name again, quietly, before he simply smiled warmly at her. "I'm okay. ...I was just thinking about stuff," Luke explained. That was the jist of what he was doing. While he'd also wandered out for a moment alone, he wasn't about to tell her that. He didn't want her to leave. Despite spending a lot of time together they hadn't really talk... talked. Rather, there were things left unsaid that he'd made up his mind to tell her, but failed to the last time she'd been here. He didn't want to fail to again, but he didn't really know how to even begin.
