Franziska von Karma didn't have any 'friends' in this city yet, and as such had no obligations to anyone but herself for the time being. The talk with Tara Maclay had yielded a set of circumstances that she was loathe to even think about, let alone acknowledge as possible, and after the blackout and subsequent locking out, she'd decided that perhaps getting a better feel for this place would be the best idea. She wouldn't have Scruffy here to learn things for her, so she'd need to do it herself. (Even then, Scruffy hadn't really been the best choice when information transferal or gathering was involved so perhaps this hadn't changed anything after all ( ... )

Feel free to correct her, Maureen :3 feelmywhip April 13 2009, 16:04:24 UTC
Franziska chose not to answer Maureen's words; the fact that she wasn't entirely sure how to answer was entirely beside the point. The prosecutor walked through the streets, up to a corner, and glanced down the road. She wasn't familiar with New York normally and all the damage the place had sustained confused her at times when she was trying to figure out where she was.

Of course, she didn't want to admit that she was lost. So she headed in the direction she thought was the middle of the island. Of course, she was wrong this time, and had chosen the road that would lead to the nearest body of water - not quite where she was wanting to go (though she didn't know this).

Gods, I'm sorry it took so long. D: plzpookie April 25 2009, 08:20:27 UTC
Maureen was still stuck in her own little world. Was she just a magnet for fucking lawyers? Cute ones, at that... She lingered behind as Franziska chose a direction to go, admiring the view...

Until she realized that the woman was leading her to the water. "So, are we going to see the ocean or civilization? There's nothing that way except for water... And I'm not in the mood for a swim," she pointed out with a soft laugh and tilt of her head.

Franziska was more than certain she was heading in the correct direction. When Maureen informed her that she was heading for the water, whichever body of water it was she didn't know, the prosecutor stopped and turned to face the other woman. Her fingers twirled the whip around again as she regarded her companion with mild annoyance.

"Ocean, really?" she asked disdainfully. "I suppose foolishly think you, fool that you are, know this foolhardy city better than someone who has been here longer?"

Maureen laughed even louder this time. "You've been here longer, have you?"

She raised one eyebrow at the woman and stared at her a moment longer. "Babe, I've lived here all my life. And no crumpled buildings and broken pavement can change what it looks like. Even if this is in the future, it's still Manhattan."

Franziska stared down at the other woman, clearly thinking that something in her brain was more than a little twisted. At least until Maureen mentioned living here. Right, she said she'd lived here. Foolish fool.

The prosecutor paused. "If you are so well-informed, why don't you take the lead?"

If she really did know her way around, she could be the one to figure out where they were. The whip lashed out to the side as cold eyes remained on Maureen.

Maureen smirked and shrugged her shoulders. "Ok, fine. Follow me," she grinned, walking past Franziska and trailing a finger along the woman's chin. She led the way around a corner and towards Madison Square Garden. Even in a monster-ridden Manhattan, Maureen was pretty sure people would be there.

Franziska jerked her head away from the finger that trailed along her chin, whip lashing out in retaliation. She wasn't used to having people touch her, particularly not in such a... personal way. Glaring at Maureen's back for a moment, Franziska hurried up next to her so as to look as though she knew where she was going. At least she'd be able to find her way home from Madison Square Garden. That was a plus. And then she'd be able to rid herself of this... woman.
