... She was, fortunately for Haine. As soon as he opened the door she was dashing to him and latching onto his shirt, shaking hard as another wail tore through the apartment.

She had been sitting on her bed when the noises started. The first sound had caused her to freeze, immediately scared at the deafening noise. It almost sound like - like those things... those horrible, giant things with gas masks for faces that were hurting everyone. But - Haine had said none of those were here. They were safe.

But that noise.

"Haine...." Lily whimpered, clinging tightly to him, "Wh -- what is that??"

Just like she had back then...

His breathing was a little fast, but he put an arm around her back.

"It's not what you think..." he said, holding her close. "I think it's the big monster."

"...Are you okay?"

"Yeah. It's just..."

Scary. Terrifying. Bringing up memories of being in that room, with all that blood.

"I'm okay," she murmured, trying to sound a little more confident. Haine would try to protect her if anything bad happened. "Why's it being loud? Is it close?"

"I'm not sure." he said, loosening his grip but still holding her. "Maybe it's fighting with the other one."

"Do you think you can ignore it? I can try and find you some earplugs if you want."
