Characters: Larsa and Kida! Content: The two finally get to talk! Location: Apartments of East 28th and 5th Street Time of day: Early evening Warnings: None
After the fight with Marluxia, the talk with Namine and the meeting with Loz, Larsa had taken some time to heal. He'd been strong for her after everything and hadn't wanted to appear weak in front of her guardian. But now that he was home, he wasn't doing as well as he would have hoped. His back hurt and the leg that had been cut was no longer bleeding, but difficult to stand on.
So he'd taken to settling in the lobby. It was less like being secluded and an invalid, but he still didn't have the strength to go very far. Which was rather depressing and left him to his thoughts most times, thoughts of Gabranth, Basch, his brother, and the rest of Ivalice.
Such thoughts weren't good for an emperor, but there wasn't much else for him to do.
Kida stepped into the lobby, ready for the cold weather she'd encountered only during brief, very unpleasant visits to the ice caves in the caverns surrounding her home. Zipping up her jacket, she glanced across the lobby to see a familiar face.
"...Larsa?" A look of excitement lit up her face as she strode up and propped her spear against a chair. "Larsa! It is wonderful to see you again in person!"
Larsa hadn't been paying attention to whoever was walking around the lobby at the moment, but the second he heard Kida's voice, he sprang to his feet while ignoring the aching pain in his leg, and plastered a smile on his face. He was never good at hiding what he was feeling, but he could try anyway.
"It is good to see you again as well," came the soft answer. "I am glad to see you are well."
It really was good to see her again and know that she was all right, even with everything that was going on at the moment. Things were happening, but it was always good to know that those he cared about were doing okay.
At first Kida, in her enthusiasm, completely missed how fast Larsa's expression had changed. Instead, she took advantage of the fact he was standing and gave him a tight hug. "I can say the same for you, my friend."
But the moment the words came from her mouth, she hesitated. There indeed had been a quick change in expression, had there not? Kida pulled away a bit so she could look him in the face, cocking her head.
