Sasuke was halfway to his destination when it occurred to him that he hadn't asked for any identifying features. While in Manhattan this was normally not particularly necessary -- people didn't wander in large groups, which was something of a relief -- Madison Square Garden was a fairly popular place.
Upon approach, he cast around, catching sight of a man standing off to the side with a few bags. With any luck, those bags were the samples, and if not, the man was someone who could tell Sasuke what he needed to know.
"You're the wizard?" He asked, lacking preamble as usual.
Sasuke watched the spell with a fair amount of interest. Time in Manhattan had made it clear that there were more than a few different sources and uses of power between the different worlds, but someone who claimed to be able to use magic was still unusual. The temptation to slip into Sharingan and check if it was in fact chakra that Harry was shaping was strong, but Sasuke had no illusions about how it would look to Fugaku, and how the rather twitchy jounin would react.
It was difficult to be sure exactly how it worked without the help of the doujutsu, though -- what was the purpose of the circle? And what exactly made that pendant react properly?
Outwardly, he watched the pendant and prepared to move.
Having seen Dresden work magic before, Fugaku was able to keep his face blank. Inside, though, he was fascinated. Even without sharingan, the energy being used was so clear. Well, obvious would have been a better word, but that was how things worked. Huh.
Well, people seemed to think it would work. The wizard had found his dog tags, after all. Food couldn’t be that much harder.
Riza watched as well but given that she had seen Harry perform a few spells and the fact that she didn't know enough about any sort of magic to compare it to, she kept more of her attention on their surroundings in case some crabs decided to catch up with them early. She noticed that Sasuke seemed a lot more curious about the spell and Fugaku had that neutral look on his face that rivaled some of the blank faces Riza could pull off. It would make him difficult to read that was for sure.
As soon as Harry stood up, the pendant pointing to the can, Riza nodded and waited for Harry to start leading them off with the pendant.
Harry noted Sasuke's interest in the spell, and made a note to offer to teach the kid a little about magic.
Harry led the group through the streets, heading north, for about a half an hour with no real luck. Finally though, while walking near a large apartment building, the amulet jerked and pointed up to the second story.
Harry looked the building over. It looked fairly stable, but there was still some obvious damage, and this far north, there was a chance of a crab attack. "Alright, let's check this place out, but we should stay on our guard. Any sign the buildings about to collapse, and we bail."
... well, that was certainly convenient, particularly just when the city was running low on supplies. Especially with winter coming -- unless they came up with a way to build some kind of greenhouse, the population here was going to have to subsist on what could be scrounged.
The area was oddly quiet given the frequency of crab attacks of late, but Sasuke remained tense. Mostly because of the remaining possibility of attack-by-angry-many-legged-creature (how come no one had yet confirmed if the things ate humans?), and partially because of Fugaku's presence.
Increasingly annoying. Sasuke was grateful for a chance to switch his focus, scrutinising the building the necklace was pointing out. If they moved lightly, it shouldn't be a problem.
"I'll take rearguard," he said. Sasuke had no need to be the one to find the supplies, and if the crabs were going to attack, they'd be most likely to come from ground level -- behind them.
Fugaku scowled at the building, and decided, that while it was structurally sound (or mostly, at any rate), it would go up in a snap if someone let loose a katon, and the damn thing would probably fall on their heads as well, adding insult to injury. He should know, having done sabotage-missions before. If there was fighting on the scale that shinobi did it, there would be trouble, likely of the fatal kind

Riza gazed up at the building, no, she was quite sick of collapsing buildings by this point but she would go up there for the sake of everyone and the need for food. "I'll take the front then," Riza replied after Sasuke claimed rear, she had no fear of going in first and besides, next to Sasuke she was probably the lightest one here...if a floor was going to give she'd be able to test it first.
"We'll be fine as long as we stay sharp," she said before leading the way up to the building, slightly ahead of Harry and keeping an eye on his amulet.
Watching Sasuke and Fugaku's professional evaluation of the building and its potential dangers, Harry had to admit whatever else his impressions of the two Uchiha they definitely knew their stuff when it came to recon work. Add in Riza's own talents as a sniper, and Harry's confidence in this team he had assembled was growing. Sure there were a few kinks to iron out, but it was nice to at least be with people who knew how to pay attention to something other than what was right in front of them

Going out the window was hardly a problem for a shinobi, even without the luxury of being able to spare a bit of chakra for cushioning the landing. The question was more one of whether Riza could handle it (although she seemed accustomed enough to combat), or, more dubiously, whether Harry could handle it with his injury.
If worse came to worse, though, Sasuke was fairly sure he could handle carrying at least one, and Fugaku was proving loyal enough to whomever was giving orders to be accountable for the other.
Of course with luck they'd find what they were here for quickly, or at least be attacked on the ground floor. Sasuke waited for Fugaku to enter before following, keeping careful track of the exact sound of their footsteps and anything even slightly different from them in the darkness behind.
He smelled the rot immediately, though maybe the others didn’t. They said nothing. It was old, more than a week. Just an after-thought, really. Nothing they should notice, but he did because he was too familiar with corpses. Fugaku narrowed his eyes, disliking something about the building immediately upon entering it. “There’s something dead in here,” he said sharply, scanning the battered walls made of concrete and marked with spray-paint.
The taggers had come in here, too. It seemed they came to many places, though the marks on the building seemed older. Most of them were illegible.
Why the place had to be so damn tight, Fugaku didn’t know. He blamed crazy builders who didn’t know half as much as they thought they did
