Actually Riza was up before Rosette started shouting and rolling out of bed grabbing the shotgun near it as well as the rest of her ammo automatically. The earthquake...it was just like that time the building had fallen on herself, Harry, and Sora...as well as that time she had crossed big mama's path. She was not going to be caught unprepared again. There was no time to dress so she was glad she had gone to bed in a decent pair of PJs for once. She was out the door by the time Rosette ran past her door.

"Rosette," she called after the flash of blonde, "Do you know how close it is?"

The roar echoed around her again. "Shit," she cursed, realizing it was a lot closer or at least coming closer than she had originally thought.

In fact, Wolf had been up two hours before the roar. He had smelled it...smelled it coming so strongly that it woke him up before the sun even rose. Something bad. Something unbelievably bad. He'd spent the past two hours pacing back and forth in the hallway, whining at the doors but not actually knocking...he knew Riza and Harry would likely still be angry from what had happened during the full moon, and would tell him to get lost this early in the morning...

That is, until the roars started echoing across the buildings, and the monster's stench hit him hard. He wasn't the only one...everyone else in the apartments was up in a flash.

"Awwwwr, it's too close, too close!" He cried to Riza and Rosette, his eyes full of panic. "Run run run, we...we gotta RUN!

Riza turned to Wolf, of course he would know the man was part animal instinct as she had learned a few days prior. "I know, calm down Wolf we'll get out of here," she knew she should still be irritated with him but the panic of what was about to happen was over riding anything she might have felt towards Wolf from previous nights.

Staying alive was more important right now.

Harry hadn't woken up as fast as Riza, but once he had he'd been moving before he'd even fully awakened. He'd thrown his jacket over his sleep ware, and managed to snag his hockey stick and first aid kit from beside his bed.

Rushing into the hallway he spotted Riza, Wolf, and Rosette. The detective was used to thinking on the fly, so it only took a second to formulate a plan. "Okay, Riza, I think I hear someone moving in Kurogane and Fai's rooms, so why don't you grab them and the new girl and get them out of here. Rosette, you and Wolf start heading down right now. Take the back alleys and stay away from the main streets. Get as far south from this area as possible. And watch out for crabs! If you can, everyone meet up at that grocery store where they found the new food." Harry gave them the address, knowing Riza already knew what he was talking about.

Turning he made his way down the hallway shouting, "I'll get Murphy."

Chii didn't technically "sleep" as a human would define sleep. But she needed her rest all the same and was very much not awake until Rosette began making her racket in the halls. Rolling over, Chii sat up and rubbed her eyes, confused. Yawning, Chii glanced around, confused. She heard roaring in the distance and suddenly she was wide awake. She hadn't been here long and didn't know what the noise was, but she was scared.

Crawling from her resting place, Chii poked her head shyly out of the door, uncertain but needing comfort.

Kurogane slept, but he didn't sleep soundly, especially now that he'd gotten accustomed to waking up early for the fencer's training. The roaring in the distance brought him to immediate, tense wakefulness; the yelling of the girl came seconds later and he was already out of bed, pulling on a pair of shoes.

He went to the magician's room first. "The demon's coming," he said tersely. They'd all long since discovered that their powers were not the same in this world, and a beast that would have been no trouble anywhere else was deadly here. "Get out of the apartment, now."

He went to the girl's room next to see that she was already awake. "C'mon," he told her, fully prepared to grab her and sling her over a shoulder if necessary. "We have to leave right now."

Chii jumped back as Kurogane approached, not quite use to him. Fai liked him, so she trusted him, but his presences frightened her just a tad. Clutching her hands to her chest, Chii nodded and didn't argue. Though only wearing a nightgown, she stepped from her room.

"What is happening...?"

"The demon is coming." Kurogane didn't worry much about the magician for the moment; he could take care of himself. He wrapped a hand around the girl's arm and pulled her through the apartment and out the door.

In the hallway there were others evacuating; he kept the girl close as they went to the stairwell. The sounds from outside were becoming louder and he thought he could feel the floor trembling. It was close. "Shit," Kurogane muttered, looking to make sure the magician was with them.

Murphy didn't wake up until the deep roar of an angry beast was rolling through the building, shaking the windowframes and snapping her awake. Some animal instinct told her what was happening before she could wrap her conscious mind about it, and in seconds she'd grabbed her gun and jammed her feet into the shoes she kept beside her bed. Luckily she slept in exercise pants and a tank-no need to worry about modesty in a crisis situation.

She rocketed out into the hallway where she could hear panicked voices. "Harry!" she shouted.

Harry felt a wave of relief wash through him at seeing Murphy up and okay. No way was he losing her again.

In his best cowboy voice he shouted "Come on partner time to skedaddle! I think the law is about to come down on us hard!"

"I am the law!" she called back, but there was no smile behind her end of their usual banter. She hustled toward him, mentally counting off the number of residents she saw ahead of them.

Neither wasted time-they'd both been in enough danger to sense that this was big danger and they had to get out of the way. Anything else was secondary.

Harry kept up his grin, although Murphy would be able to tell easily that it was forced.

Turning to run with her he said, "I sent Wolf and Rosette ahead to the grocery store where they found all the fresh food, and Riza should be getting the rest of them out as we speak. Looks like its just you and me for now. We need to go meet up with the others."

Matching his stride to hers, Harry made his way to the door. He had to admit it was comforting to have Murphy with him. After everything they had been through together, there was no way they were going to let some giant monster beat them.
