Terra E Manga

Oct 24, 2009 20:20

I finally got a chance to see a couple of bits of the Terra E manga. I haven't read it all the way thorough yet but there are a couple of interesting things I noticed in comparison to the anime.

My thoughts on yaoi..-erm, I mean sci-fi. )

Thoughts on yaoi, thoughts on sci-fi... it's Takemiya; they're the same thing.

Also, I seem to have missed Matsuka in the manga entirely. I remember him being there but I guess the connection didn't register in my brain since he looks so different.

That's true most of the time, really. I don't suppose you've ever seen 'Torchwood'? (it's a british sci-fi show with more homoerotic content than is really necessary) That's not really relevant here, though.

I've only skimmed over a couple of random chapters so I don't know, does he play a smaller role in the manga?

I haven't seen it, but I know there's a huge slash fandom, which is good enough in this discussion.

Well, I don't wanna say anything misleading -- I've only read it through once and I need to read Takemiya's manga two or three times before things stick in my head -- but I don't remember him doing much of anything.

It's quite good. Get's a bit silly (and not in a good way) sometimes though. This clip sums it up pretty well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4OySGjiQ4Y

Back to terra: Does he not. That's a shame, he's one of my favourite characters in the anime. I mean, he's clearly an idiot, he spends most of his time saving the life of a man who has made it clear that he intends to kill him once the whole thing is over, but he (matsuka, that is) is kind of sweet.

It amuses me that people who didn't really like Matsuka in the manga just fell for him in the anime. Makeovers do work, I guess.

I haven't seen enough of him in the manga to decide whether I like him any less than in the anime. Character-wise he seems much the same.

Jomy's more shota in the manga.

That's true. He is.

Blue looks a lot younger, too.
