I went to the podiatrist on Friday and she diagnosed me with Raynauds Disease (which basically means poor circulation and very cold hands and feet) and prescribed two ointments, only one of which I was able to fill. You might want to check out the Raynaud's association. http://www.raynauds.org/ A friend of mine from Minnesota has Raynaud's and I believe has found help through that site.

Thanks for the link! I've been wondering what people do...I mean, do they honestly wear gloves to take things out of the freezer? And the answer is...yes, yes they do!

I don't know anything about Raynauds, but I have poor circulation and my hands and feet are terribly cold most of the time. I've recently started taking cayenne supplements, which are supposed to stimulate bloodflow, and it does seem to help.

I've heard cayenne, and CoQ10 are supposed to be very good. I'm thinking about going to a Chinese herbologist and seeing if they have one or two combination pills I could take because I'm already taking 5 pills a day and really don't want many more (those are just multivitamins!)

Well, cold drives fluid out of the area, heat brings it in. Maybe alternating hot and cold treatments would be more effective than cold alone?

Also, I can't help thinking massage is a good treatment for this. Can Dan massage your feet while they are elevated on a pile of cushions?

Can you bicycle your legs in the air, move your feet around, any kind of movement just to get the blood flowing? I'm picturing you lying on your back, waggling your feet above you to encourage blood to drain down.

I'm sorry to hear that Tienne! What did the podiatrist say today?

I couldn't get in. But I see her on Thursday and I have a call in to my PCP, too. *sigh*
