what a great weekendsoloadventureSeptember 18 2006, 04:40:07 UTC
It's so good to hear you like this. You go. I'm so glad you have your rosary ladies. It's nice to have a group of women with the same values and paths.
I don't know if my email from a few days ago helped or just annoyed. I hope the former. Please know I'm on your side, and these great family days are what makes it all worthwhile.
I remember one time you said something about calienteyfria, the friend with the c-section something or other, and I was like NOooooo! I fought very hard not to have a section (and didn't!). It was just the way it was listed, but it could have read that way.
That cracks me up, but I do it too. I have "a friend with Lyme Disease" and when I was misdiagnosed as a carrier of Hep B, I had "my other friend with Hep B"...haha.
HA! I must have missplaced a comma in that sentence or something. :) Yeah, and the thing is, she's much more than just a c-section. I mean, that was a year ago and it's hardly the defining aspect of my friendship with her, but that's how I first introduced her in my journal and I've never stopped. Silly!
I like your "friend with Lyme Disease." That's too classic.
I guess it's because I could talk about Cynthia, and if I'd talked about her before, you'd probably go, "Is that the one with Lyme Disease?" You know what I mean? Sometimes it's easier to remember conditions than names, unfortunately.
What's the place in Long Grove? We got the invite on Saturday. I still don't know if I can make it.
All those pictures are so cute! The one with the frosting in Kaden's hair just cracks me up. No surprise that he's tall, of course.
Seriously, what was up with that ND/Michigan e-mail? I thought it was over the top, and I'm not particularly invested in the rivalry. Sometimes he's just a doofus...
Every time my mom says that the house is a mess or she hasn't cleaned, I want to scream. "Not cleaned" means that there's, like, one glass in the sink. Oy.
Yeah, I saw you were on that list and I was like, WTF why would gracemarie care AT ALL about all this crap? Not to mention that sending it to a Michigan grad was totally out of line. I think he thinks that I'm a closet ND fan, like, that I can't profess my true love because I'm married to Dan, but you know, I DO root for Michigan for a reason and telling me my school is anti-Catholic isn't a way to win brownie points for your team.
Sigh. I don't think he realizes how hateful the email was. That's what kind of amazes me. Like, he honestly thinks all that stuff is true, and there's NO WAY Carr is out there telling African-American recruits not to go to Notre Dame because they'd feel out of place among Catholics.
*sigh* Sometimes he just has no tact. I also get sick of the comments about Marquette, and the fact that it's Jesuit, because somehow that apparently makes it an "inferior" Catholic school. Whatever. At least most Marquette students don't walk around with a freaking superiority complex. Eesh. Sorry, I love him but he makes me cranky.
The thing is, if forced to choose between ND and UM, I would choose ND, simply because I have a personal history with it that has everything to do with family and nothing to do with football. And I still found the e-mail offensive.
Anyway, enough griping. Hope that you're feeling okay as the pregnancy winds down. Call me if you need anything!
