What about Tyke? Your cat looks like a circus performer. Tyke was an elephant who killed her trainer and escaped from the circus. A sad tale, but--like Guy Fawkes Day--a reminder of the idea of freedom.

My first instinct was to name her after Tatiana the tiger from the SF zoo who got out xmas day so she could have herself a feast, but she doesn't seem like a Tatiana.

That's awesome. Maybe there's an acrobat the kids admire? If your cat plays pranks, you could name her grock--a famous swiss clown who was extremely smart (knew tons of languages and could play tons of instruments) even though he played a foolish/silly role in the circus.
