Running was easy. Lifting up your legs and vampire speed carries you to your destination. There was freedom and the open air blowing past you as speed on down the wide angle streets called ‘interstate’. It was easy for Kol to forget about anything else as he ran away from Mystic Falls.
He stopped for a second to run his hands through his hair. He looked up to see the moon shine full over the open road. Behind him, he said to no one in particular, “It’s for the best, Nik,” he turned on his heels, sped down the road.
