Given that the new Crash AND David Cronenberg managed to be up for Oscars in the same year, and that the previous Flawless starred Philip Seymour Hoffman... yes.

Don't forget Gladiator, which was also a 1992 film starring future Oscar winner Cuba Goooding Jr.
