Short-n-Sweet

Am so angry right now. I went to put in my LJ cut once I'd writen my entry, yet the computer's pop-up blocker refused to let me. Hit the option to allow pop-ups, and the whole entry was erased. *sigh* So now, ya'll will be getting the short and sweet version of what I had to say.

The good news is that since my last post, I've managed to finish all ( Read more... )

socks/ footwear, scarves, shawls/wraps, finished projects 2007, adult knits, knit gift list 2007

My computer arbitrarily shuts itself off at totally frustrating and inappropriate times too -- isn't it annoying? You have my sincerest sympathies. Your socks, however, are amazing! I love them -- and what a fantastic job you do! You inspire me to try my hand at a pair as soon as the April homespun helpers contest is done!!! They are really lovely!

Have been fighting with my home computer all day; the internet connection keeps going in-and-out, and the computer keeps closing out pages. *sigh*

Thank you. I enjoy making socks from worsted-weight yarn. So long as you can knit, purl, and pick up stitches, you can make a sock.

Well, I will let you know how it goes! (Depending, of course, upon who wins the April challenge -- perhaps I will be making Afghans for Angels before my socks!)

Ha we'll see. I have a feeling we'll all be making squares this next month.

I've seen the coffee mitt pattern at hobby lobby and sent one to a friend who is just learning to knit and who was a barista for years. It made me laugh, though I might make one for my klean kanteen--it's cold when there's water in it!

There's an idea. I've seen holders for beer bottles and pop cans too, as well as Sling from Knitty, which is like a cozy with a handle on it.

ARGH. I would have screamed if that had happened to me! *hugs*

Love the socks. The eyelet pattern looks familiar--is that what you used to make my socks? They are so pretty. Love the grey heather socks too--I love that yarn color. It's so beautiful.

Good luck with the charity knitting! I think I'll be working on WUA squares for a while. I received information from the woman who collects them in my area, and I think that it will be a nice quick project for me in addition to being a good starting project for our beginning knitters.

Silly gal - those are your socks. Hope you don't mind they had a photo session on my feet.

Good luck with your charity knitting, too. You didn't reply to my email though; is this Sunday still cool?

LOL! I wondered if they might be my socks. I'm sad to say they looked much better then than they do now. I'm afraid I've rather put them through the ringer. (Only because I love them so.) I keep having to re-sew them back together because I keep walking new holes into them!

I just replied to your e-mail. I've been so spacey lately... sorry! Sunday's fine. :)

It's okay. Socks are the one thing you almost want to rip apart quickly, cause it means they're loved.

Hm, for some reason I didn't get your email. I hope it didn't go into my bulk mail folder, because if so it's been deleted by now. :(

Man I don't know how you can make socks! They look so hard!

They look so cozy! I bet they feel so nice on your feet!

They're easier than they look. Trust me. I thought it would be years upon years before I so much as attempted them. They are very soft and toasty. Gotta love Wool Ease. :D
