Three Days Later

Dec 13, 2007 15:38

In my last post I mentioned how, in order to complete everything on the gift list in time, I needed to spend no more than three days per item. Three days have since passed, so time for a progress report.

[1] Heads Up Hat for Friend

Last time I reported that the Heads Up Hat still needed finishing. Today it looks like this:

1) The Heads Up hat is absolutely beautiful. Good job!

2) The second Fetching is, well, fetching. ;) Amazing how much the light blue looks like the silver yarn I used! Fetching really does seem to appear to its best advantage in a light color.

3) You're flying somewhere? Lucky girl! I hope your needles don't get confiscated. They aren't supposed to be, but you never know. Here's hoping they won't dare!

4) I love the way that looks in the rose heather. Wonder if there's any chance I have enough rose heather to make some socks? I feel like going on a sock binge once my Christmas knitting is all done, LOL. Another pair for Kiersten, a pair for me... whee! ;) BTW, I look forward to hearing how the heel knitting goes. It certainly does sound interesting!

1) Thank you. I'm pretty proud of it myself. Thanks so much for the encouraging comment; means a lot. Now of course comes the waiting game until I (hopefully) hear from Sheri about it.

2) I too love Fetching in lighter colors. The black looks nice, and has a very nice appearance on the pattern page, yet I'm enjoying the light blue much better.

3) See next post for comments on this one.

4) I'm in love with the heather yarns. Seriously beautiful. As you go on your binge, I've been on one the past few weeks; socks for mom, socks for two coworkers... who knows where it will end. Probably when I run out of yarn to use for them. :(

I'm thinking that at the very least I ought to use the rose heather for some socks for Elena. I hope I can track down that one baby sock pattern you gave me a while back. (It shouldn't be too hard, I think you posted it in my LJ!)

Wow, you are truly a knitting fiend! I wish I had enough time to knit gifts for people, but I don't. :(
I'll just live vicariously through you instead.

P.S.-I love the yarn for the hat in the first picture. Is the glitter woven into the yarn like that? Gorgeous!

The yarn is Lion Brand Wool Ease in tinsel white. It does come with the glitter woven in, which is why I bought it. I love how it looks as a hat.

I really think the only reason I got everything done was that I started so early. I've been working on the dishcloths all year, and the rest of the list was made in early August. Being in college, there isn't much time to do all the knitting I would like.
