Tante parole. Uno o due spoiler segnalati. La perla del giorno è : “I think Theon would have greatly benefited from being born into the Stark family. I think he would have a better moral compass.” ( We do (not) rant. )
( ... )
Oh, that is annoying! I disliked Theon for the longest time, tbh, but that was because I'd read the books and I felt that his betrayal of the Starks was despicable. I mean, I understood his reasoning, but I didn't agree. Then I read Dragons and I fell back in love with him. He was so wonderful and amazing in that book, and I think if I reread the books I'd see him differently.
So basically, I do understand why you might dislike a certain character, but I also feel like you can't draw any conclusions without reading the books, because they give you the full picture. Oh, Theon. ♥ Other characters I disliked at first, then came to love include: Cersei, Sansa, and Melisandre. On the other hand, I dislike Arya a bit now because I don't approve of her decisions.
But I love the fact that the characters change! That's the best part of them! Even Ned, noblest of them all, reveals new side as we hear more about them, and lovely Cat just gets scarier and scarier. THESE BOOKS. I HAVE SO MUCH LOVE.
Exactly! The books are complex and every character development is interesting in his own way; for sure we have all different tastes when we talk about characters and a large fandom like the ASoIaF's one means that we can debate a lot about them! Is a good thing because if you go deep enough is not impossible to discover some interest for a character, even for those you was sure to hate. I totally agree with you! My example is Stannis XD He's my favorite character (with Davos) but on Clash of Kings I was like "... Who are you! What you want!" but after that I just found myself in love with him XD
So many books, so many chances to change your mind (or not) but being offensive saying "Oh I hope Sansa dies" IN HER TAG .... I mean... are you serious? You are not doing a contribution to debates, it's just a silly behavior that ruins a fandom!
