Really? I and pretty much everyone I know were disappointed by Korra. Is book 2 that much better than it started out?

Hrm...Had you read Ender's Game before watching the movie?

I'm still sick. I've had a cold for over a month now. @_@ Otherwise everything is great.

(Tried to reply from my phone this morning, but it wouldn't send.)

Sorry to hear about your cold. Colds suck, especially when they drag on. *sends warmth and healthy thoughts*

Haven't read the book of Ender's Game, but definitely plan to at some point in the future.

Re: Korra, I'm probably just an easy audience (I'm still pretty glued to DC/MK after all) but I found the finale kickass, the resolution of the series mind-blowing somewhat and enjoyed the ride. I like that they're not afraid to subvert expectations in little ways. ♥ Where did you leave off?

(I think LJ's servers are having serious issues. I hope the whole site doesn't die permanently.)

Yeah...Thanks. :3

I haven't seen the movie, largely because I've loved the book for years and think I would be disappointed no matter how good the movie is. Ah well.

Hm. I left off fairly early on, when it was pretty much a teenage rom com. Maybe I'll push through that part, since you're giving it such a glowing recommendation. Is there a point at which it really picks up, or is it kind of an action-romcom mix the whole way through?

(Dammit LJ, stop getting DDOS by Russians!)

The teenage romance is pretty much a big thing, true, but there are some very epic action showdowns, revelations and twists. In book 2 the romance definitely takes a sort of back-seat more towards the drama/soap thingy? (dunno if that's an accurate description, basically I find the romance gets turned on its head/made believable/real-world like), and leaves more room for epic story-telling. The rest of the cast (outside team avatar's rom-com double triangle) have big moments to shine, like Lin Beifong, Tenzin and his family and others.

Curry is loving it (despite being rather allergic to anime in general), so I'm sure you'll find something more to your tastes if you persevere. :D
