On Wednesday afternoon after the MRI, a police officer phoned me telling me that the eyewitnesses pretty well agreed with what I remembered happening, to wit, the car turning left without checking his mirrors or anything. My aunt used to be the head nurse in the OR, and at least once she had to physically prevent a surgeon from operating on the wrong limb. In her case, while I am entirely sure she WOULD have just tackled the dude if necessary, all she really had to do was touch him, since she's not considered 'clean' and so as soon as she touches someone who is scrubbed in, they have to go re-scrub. So since he wouldn't listen to her when she tried to point out the mistake, she touched his arm.

Now when anyone she knows goes in for surgery she tells them to write 'Not this one!' on the other limb in addition to whatever markings the hospital uses.

I'm so glad you posted scans! That CT scan is pretty awesome. Or awful, I guess, if it's inside one's own body.

I had a spinal for my c-sections, too. Ditto on the lack of dignity, although I was never bathed in hospital.
