An easy and cheap way to incorporate fruit into your diet is to buy frozen fruit. It's cheaper and it doesn't go bad. I usually make a cup of plain oatmeal (no sugar) and then thaw frozen blueberries and put it in there. The juices from the frozen fruit make it SEEM like you are eating the sugary flavored oatmeal, but you are actually not! Also, apples and peanut butter is a very filling, delicious and cheap snack.
Just thought I'd share since eating fruit regularly is the only healthy eating habit I do consistently. I'm working on eating more vegetables.
I really love that you do these goal posts every month. I have been thinking about updating, but it just feel overwhelming. I might try to do a very simple list update and go from there.
Regarding diets - you don't need to diet. If you want to lose weight, it's as simple as calories in versus calories out. You can still enjoy the beer, the dairy, etc (as I do a lot!), just eat less of it and move your body as much as you can!
p.s. Trail running is the ultimate combination of hiking/running and is the best thing in the world.
