Have you tried to contact the 2nd bidder to see if they want to add $1 to win?

Honestly, I have no idea how to do that. I really want to but there appears to be some security issue keeping me from actually contacting him/her. Do you know how to do this specifically?

Don't worry about it. The seller can always make a second chance offer to the next highest bidder. Just tell them upfront about your situation.

I told them as such and hoped they would be cool about it, no guarantees. "I really want this Damoclidian bastard off my neck now plzkthnx" also doesn't appear to be helping.
