Oh wow, I didn't see that. I've considered Belize to be a personal stepping stone on the way to seasteading, but I had no idea others were thinking the same. I definitely need to be more active on the forums.

I'd love to be involved in the basesteading project, even if it's just helping out with finding real estate and setting up infrastructure. If it all ends up coming together, we'll have to grab a drink -- I'm sure we'll have lots to talk about :)

On an unrelated subject, I was browsing wikipedia for some anarcho-capitalist literature and ended up on The Machinery of Freedom, then on your dad's page itself. Had no idea he founded Pennsic. One of my earliest memories is going when I was 6 or 7. Small world haha.

I think you may be overlooking the fact that if one company is in control of the telecom system chances are they are well protected by a higher power with lots of money and ways to ensure that the monopoly stands.
