I LOVE this. It has this softness that makes it seem ethereal and fairytale like (that is what you guys were aiming for, right?) and it all works together to really make this fic beautiful. I really think this is something that should be read aloud, because, you know, it's like a fairytale.
That was totally what we were aiming for. We spent a lot of time trying to get the tone just right and we're so happy that that's how it came off as to you! Thanks so much for reading!
btw, where's your icon from? It's got us so curious...
Ffff I wrote a really detailed comment and lj ate it, let me try and remember what I said.
This was literally DELIGHTFUL. The disjointed style made it feel like a translation into english (appropriate considering the characters and the setting) and Stephane & Brian's personalities were heightened in a way that was fairytale without being charicature. The dialogue rang true, and I loved the jobs you gave them both! I really loved this, and it's something I can't wait to reread.
Disjointed wasn't the intent but rather, an unintentional byproduct--but considering this was a collaboration, I'm glad the disjointed nature didn't bother you at all.
I'm happy you liked the jobs! i_l0ve_my_az and I were pulling excuses out of our arses just so we can weave in Jewbear as an actor (Stephane as a talkshow host seemed so appropriate and natural).
This is just so lovely!!! I've been craving good fics with Joubert in them; you guys delivered that and you had Stephane!! <3 <3 <3 Especially loved the part where Stephane's signing autographs and that Brian attracts girls fifteen and above *__* (brb swooning)
Thanks! :D Yes, the world totally needs more Joubert fics, we cannot agree more. I can't take credit for that scenario you loved but dadomz is ecstatic that you adored that throwaway comment. (I loved it too; ugh, Joubert, how so totally gorgeous?) ♥
It is a sound theory bb and it was mostly inspired by you. You are my muse. Becuz, obviuzly, u are a grown woman creaming your pantiez (+ eyes glazed) every time you YOUTUBE his Vidz.
After I finished reading this, I left this tab opened for a while because I was thinking of an appropriate way to express my love for his story. In all honesty this has been one of the more charming things I've read recently and it is also so delightfully French. It's difficult for me to quantify by what I mean when I say French (and I haven't watched any of the things you've listed as your inspiration) but it was like this fic totally jumped out of a Yann Tiersen song.
I love the characterization, I love the atmosphere that was created, and I adored the dialogue. I will be rereading it now. Thank you so much for writing this.
This just made my day!! I can imagine Stephane being exactly like this and the little that I know of Brian, this just rings true. The slow build up, the angst and subsequent reunion had me laughing, grinning madly and brought tears in my eyes. It's poignant and feels so real.
Truly a great Brian/Stephane read, one I will be enjoying again and again.

For one thing, we're thousands of miles away from France and next, Yann Tiersen songs are divine. Thank you so much!
