What a compelling read! If I didn't know that this wasn't fiction, I'd have felt in the first half that I was reading the journal of someone experiencing the descent into dystopia (which it possibly may as well have been).
It's interesting how the pandemic started to break things apart, but has circled around to putting things together again. Maybe not in the same exact order or position as before, but together nonetheless.
My husband maintains that the pandemic was brought upon us by the universe to cause situations exactly as you are describing, and I'm beginning to think that there may be a bit of truth to that thought.
All of this, I suppose, is a long way of saying that I really enjoyed this. Your writing certainly has a way of getting me invested.
I really enjoyed how you combined the current events with the lives of the people you mentioned in this - it flowed so seamlessly and was intriguing from the beginning. Delightful, as usual <3
