I started counseling again. My counselor is great. She is a Dr., not a student and she does animal Assisted Therapy to boot! Her dogs name is Dakota, she is a yellow lab and sweet as can be ( Read more... )

Going to therapy at Terrill hall really isn't bad. I went to the counseling center first for a session and they actually referred me over... And i'll admit, i was incredibly apprehensive. But when i first when they explained that they tape it and every week they meet with an actual doctor who overseas everything. The student has a good amount of experience and they also talk about everything and the doctor helps with the over all care ( ... )

thanks for the comment Jam. I have been at the other two counseling centers with students for the last two years, so i was just glad to get away from the students. I am a masters student in counseling lol and i wouldn't want me. *shrug* that is why i am apprehensive, because i have never had a student that worked out.

I like my counselor, so I think you'll be okay. From what you told me about the counseling center and how they operate, the psychology clinic doesn't operate the same. I mean they are two different studies. My counselor helps lead and asks me challenging questions which forces me to think about things I never think about on my own. I told you she makes me cry and today she made my head hurt.

It's not so touchy feely with the psychology clinic; it's about fixing what ails you in a logical way or finding the root for it, so you can deal better.

I think you'll be good where I'm at, so long as you don't get the same counselor I have. That would just be weird for everyone involved. You'd know more about that than I would though.

you finally found a therapist you like? whoa... too good to be true, that's awesome! is there no way youd be able to keep going to sessions with her after the 8?
