Friday was the last workday before a nine day shutdown. Hugo returned my call from above the rim. I had to break the news to him. He's known Bob near 30 years.

I was in a similar situation last year when Charlie died. Except I didn't find out he had died until the following year. At least Hugo found out relatively quickly! I never got to say good by to Charlie either. *hugs*

I am sorry to hear about your friend. It sounds like he died peacefully though - if that can be a consolation.
