speaking from experience: if you want some extra cash, go with the tattoos. A degree in Linguistics will give you satisfaction, but it costs money to get and actually getting anything out of it other than debt is minimal. You pretty much need a MA or Ph.D to have any real fun with it. Especially since it's not really til your last year that you realize what you want to specialize. I'd go back for an MA one day just for shits and giggles.
