I remember when all my friends were posting entries on a daily basis. I limited my friends list to those whose lives I could follow coherently. Sad to say, the LJ community has been ravaged by the Facebook plague, and now LJ is more like a haunted house of abandoned journals.

That's a good analogy. It's almost as if the people connected to those largely-abandoned journals have either died or are in some sort of limbo, forever reliving 2008.
