If you haven't seen her other two Monk fics, you totally should. I highly reccomend it. Look for Mr. Monk and the Captain's Concience and Wet Dreams. Seriously. You'll thank me later.

Glad you enjoyed. That was probably my favourite ep of the season :)

That was lovely! As for me, you really stayed IC and all the dialogues seemed very plausible. My favourite quotes:

“I’m… sorry,” Adrian said, although he didn’t really know why he was apologizing. “It’s a…”

“It’s a curse,” Leland said with finality, and reached for a top-up.

“Really? You have something against cocktail umbrellas? Why?” For a moment, Leland sounded more his usual self.

“Sharp. Sharp sharp pointy ends. Dangerous. Could put your eye out. Could kill you. Some people don’t even take them out first, did you know that?”

Thanks for the comment! Pity Adrian would never have gone to Hawaii ;)

Hee - I did kind of mean under those particular circumstances. I can imagine him going there reluctantly on a case, like he did for Las Vegas.

(On the other hand I know that guy who writes the novels disapproves of fanfic, so I'm likely to ignore him anyway, just on general principles, LOL.)

Squeeeeeeee!!!! for new Monk-fic from DG. A happy surprise at the Desk of Doom for a change. This is a pre-read squeeeeee, but I want you to know how happy I am that you're continuing to write this pairing. (And I promise to give you the heads up as soon as Capt. John shows his lovely cheek-bones in Cardiff again.)

Awww, thanks for dropping by. To be honest, I don't think this'll be your thing - see that PG rating? It wouldn't normally be mine either, but I have a thing about that ep *g*. And you don't even watch Monk, iirc! But it's always lovely to see you anyway (and cross fingers for more John!).

Awwwwwwwww. Sweet. In a good way. Proving I only object to sweet when it's completely wrong for the fandom and the characters.

One tiny little factual note from the Doom of Doom-name changes on tickets are almost inpossible. The days of "you can use my tickets" are long gone.

And I saw this little post on fanficrants which proved just how desperately, the Monk fandom needs you to keep writing.

LOL, thank you for giving it a chance. Hmmm, you're right, it's true that Monk doesn't have much of the underlying relationship angst other fandoms have. A lot of it is more 'external angst', I think, since the two characters have actually both had track records of more-or-less successful long-term relationships. I'd never thought of that until you pointed out the fandom thing, but it makes sense now! Brilliant :)

One tiny little factual note from the Doom of Doom-name changes on tickets are almost inpossible. The days of "you can use my tickets" are long gone.Ha! I was wondering if someone would pick up on that, because I actually knew this from personal experience, and debated over it about when writing. My excuse is a canon-based one - the very end of the show sees Leland on vacation in Hawaii with Randy(!) instead of Linda, and it was heavily implied-though-not-stated that this was of course the vacation he was going to go on with Linda. And I didn't think it was likely he would do a 'rebook-and-cancel' for the sake of having ( ... )
