I'm finally done for the semester (and hopefully, the degree) but am feeling wrung out. Have been sick for literally a month which hasn't helped. I don't know what's going on there - I think it was possibly the flu followed by three or four successive colds, so nothing serious, but always just a little under par with some spectacular coughing fits ( Read more... )

Woo! Congratulations on finishing! Fingers crossed that you have everything you need for your degree. Sorry you're ill, though. Bleh. That always makes the semester that much ickier.

Depressing news on the Joe Hill novel. I hate, HATE that "little did she know..." stuff. It makes me grind my teeth. I never read Nos482 or whatever that was called - worth it?

I *have* High Rise, obtained nefariously, but I haven't watched it yet. I'm not expecting much from it. I guess as long as it's pretty?

Yay Heathers! I freakin' adore that movie. :D :D

Thanks, and I hope so too! I haven't been this sick in years - I do wonder whether the two are correlated. I always was the type to mostly get sick on weekends and holidays. That is, when I apparently think I can afford to do so *g ( ... )

High Rise just premiered here and got very good reviews so I guess we'll go have a look at it. Also, Jeremy Irons and I never mind watching him. *cough*

Congratulations on the degree. Further plans?

LOL, I daresay you will enjoy it, although I still maintain it's thoroughly up its own arse. Jeremy Irons was great to see, though (as was TH, even though you aren't into him).

Thanks! And right now, no. I originally thought I might, but various other issues have now become more pressing. I really am glad I did it, though!

Please forgive me for barging in like this. I followed a link to your entry from a Philip Quast fan site. Since I have been a fan of his for decades (ever since the Les Mis 10th Anniversary concert), may I ask what he sang during 'In Conversation'? You mention that he still has not lost his amazing falsetto and earth-shaking baritone. :) I take it he was accompanied by a piano?

Once again, my apologies.

Hey, not at all - as a fellow fan since forever I'm more than happy to do a proper write-up, I just thought no one would really care too much. Thanks for asking *g*

Would you mind telling me where the link to the PQ site is? I'd love to know!

Thank you so much. Here is the post that linked to your review

Friends and I had the pleasure of seeing him about a year ago as Pozzo in the STC production of Waiting for Godot in the Barbican in London. We were truly blown away.

Thank you again.

Thanks for the link! I'm not really on twitter, but I'll check back for the goodies, there looks like a lot of wonderful stuff there :)

I saw Waiting for Godot in Sydney (from the front row!). The whole production was great, but I still think he lit up the stage as Pozzo. Your comment also reminded me to update my philip quast tag for recent posts, so I appreciate that, too!
