Big bag o' random

I was going to attempt to make a non-Cumberbatchian post, but I watched Amazing Grace yesterday and I'm off again. Honestly, running across an open field, in bare feet, wearing a thin white open-necked froofy period shirt, while being chased by another pretty man wearing the same kind of get-up? I give up. He's clearly trying to kill me. It was an ( Read more... )

OMG I knew there was a reason I loved JJ Feild and Tom Hiddleston! They really do look very alike, and are so attractive. (Feild and BC work together not only in Third Star but also in To the Ends of the Earth). :)

Oooh, I'm happy to find someone else who likes them both! It's the kind of thing that has slowly crept up on me.

LOL, yes. I've actually bought TTEotE but have been avoiding actually watching it for fear of being sucked into rabid fangirl flail that I don't really want to deal with, knowing that JJ was in it as well. And then Amazing Grace came along anyway. Sigh. I am both looking forward to watching TTEotE and worried for my sanity *g*

There's running in fields with another dude??? What? I think my library owns this. Gotta check it out. *g*

That Donner cartoon is hilarious. And theirs is an amazing story. I wish I were back on track with book reading lately... :(

Ha, more than that, he becomes Prime Minister! LOL. (William Pitt the younger.) It's really worth watching; if nothing else, it's educational. I barely knew England had a slave trade, which is really what it's about, even if the story is told from the outside looking in.

I'm trying to record every book I read this year. It's really not been as many as I originally intended *g*

Holy schlamoly, they do sort of look alike. Weird!

I had no idea Forster write sci-fi. Thanks for the rec!

God, how many BC icons do you have? Not... that I'm complaining or anything XD

Weirdly - or not - I like them for very different reasons. JJ seems to get warm and emotional roles; TH more severe and distant. But both lovely. And pretty!

I love Forster's style. I borrowed an entire book of his short stories and hope to get to the rest... eventually *g*

A lot. And I'm making room for more. :D

Loved JJ in To the Ends of the Earth exceedingly. Wish he'd been in it more. There's definitely fic fodder there. And TH was one of the few things I liked about Thor. [it was fun, but...dumb. In a fun way....]

Tell me about it. I've got books and books piling up, and I keep reading fanfic.....

Glad you liked Forster's story and go ahead, read the rest! Afaik there's no further SF in the book but some fantasy (and I love Forster's style, no matter what he writes).

I should have known you read xkcd... I wonder whether you were as thrilled as I was when he slashed Strunk and White.

As for BCD, I am now wondering how many generalizations of the Erdös number are around. Mine is 4, (hence?) I find your conjecture about BC numbers of British actors extremely plausible.

Oh, and you now make me feel like watching Amazing
Grace.

Hey, cool, you have an Erdos number - I would never have heard of him had I not read The Man Who Loved Only Numbers, which was fabulous.

I did somehow miss the Strunk/White one. LOL. Disturbing, and yet inarguable.

It's worth a watch, for many reasons... some entirely more shallow than others *g*

I've loved JJ for years and thought I was the only one! Nobody else seems to have heard of him but he's adorable! And I love TH too! I hadn't thought about it until you posted the pics but they definitely share a certain something - for me, I think it's their smiles :-). That's why I first fell for JJ - he's just got such a beautiful smile.

LOL! Colour me astonished - I'd never heard of him until Third Star, so you're clearly ahead there! I just think he's adorable, and in the interviews I've watched he seems very sweet. With TH, he does seem to have a lovely smile as well, but I don't think I've had a chance to see it much - he's very glum in everything I've seen him in to date. I'm very much looking forward to The Avengers, but I don't see it improving his record! Pity *g*

I first saw JJ in The Ruby and the Smoke and fell INSTANTLY in love! Then they went and killed him off in a later film in the series and introduced Matt Smith instead - who I didn't think was that good so I was a bit glum when they cast him as the Doctor in DW - although I really like him in that. I don't understand why JJ isn't a bigger star - he's just so adorable in everything he's in.
