This is fab! I really enjoyed the dynamic between them here, the question of who is really in control. And thanks so much for posting on L&H - as maintainer I've been rather slack, and I despaired of anyone actually ever posting there after a while. If you do write more L&H, please post again to L&H, as, if it's half as good as this one, I know I'll definitely enjoy it :)

I totally agree. My explanation of the Dom!Rimmer in "Demons and Angels" is that Rimmer wants to be forceful and dominant. He might even act dominant with a willing partner (such as Lister) to build up his concept of himself. However, I think he'd really feel more comfortable as a sub.
Have now watched the movie so I could read (and very much enjoy) the fic. Gah! Poor Hillary!
I must admit that I don't like Lara very much as she's presented in the movie; she's just way too cold for my taste. Hillary, on the other hand, was a sweetheart, and it's obvious how much he cares about her, which you capture perfectly in your fic.
Hee, thanks very much for reading! I'm glad you liked Hillary even though you didn't care for Lara. I just found their dynamic very complex and interesting. And I have to say Lara appealed to me a lot, which is rare with female characters - I think I know what you mean, but I suspect that actually added to it for me XD
I have to say, dom/sub isn't really my cup of tea, but nonetheless, this smokes more than a little off the screen, and I'm always happy to see Hillary get appreciated in SOME way, even if it's not exactly how I see it. ;-)

I've done het and slash, but it's been a while since I had a het OTP. In my case, I think I'm seeing these two and Bryce as a nonsexual OT3, with maybe some underlying UST going on with Lara and Hills.
(It's the fondling of the gun. And the movements that show he knows how to handle it and what to do with it. *eyebrow waggle*)
