I LOVE the ghost game idea! Closest analogue to the concept would have to be 'Amnesia'. Since you're spending most of the game going in dark horrific places to uncover who you were and why you wiped your memory.
Mentally ill characters eh? I'd have to say just about every antagonist from Crash Bandicoot would fit. I'd love to see the Nina Cortex level xD
