Sounds like that was quite an event.. the concert. I'm just slightly jealous. I posted a little about our musical weekend as well.
You know, when I was growing up in Philly, my dad was always getting recommendations from the Chinese folk in Chinatown, and many many restaurants we ate at were of the type you described. Many had no menus in English even, but my dad had learned a little bit of 'food chinese' thru the years, and thru his associations with the Chinatown community. In my memory.. these were always the best restaurants in terms of the meal and price!
