I went to the optometrist for the first regular checkup in many years. They did the pupil dilation thing, which was sort of annoying and now I remember how much I didn't like it the last time. Happy weird, with an expectation it will end by the time you wake.

(got through my budgeted 3 hours in 2.5, which I hope is an indication of efficiency and not using cheap materials)

my last eye exam was with someone who didn't bother with that step. it's perhaps not a coincidence that the glasses they prescribed don't work at all. time to visit the school of optometry here, i think.
