I'm having a very hard time parsing "Canadian Tire Bank" as anything other than an embankment used for storing Canadian tires...

Having lived here for 11 years- Canadian Tire is a thing.

Maybe sort of like Walmart crossed with Target? With ~75 years of history and their own scrip rewards-money?

I haven't heard as much about Canadian Tire Bank lately, but when I got my ing direct high interest savings account it had a competitive account.
