This week I've bought art, a chair, and framing. And I'm looking forward to how my den's going to look in a few weeks.

I seem to buy a lot of things for myself around this time of year, too. Perhaps when the expenses are hidden amongst donations to charities and gifts for others, they don't seem quite so large or unjustifiable?

That may be part of it; year end == gifts all 'round?

Also in my case, the photography class I've just wrapped up taking has put me nose-first next to a bunch of the photo art I wanted to put on my wall, and it was a bit of a nudge to get the artist's help in choosing something I liked.
