Oh god. I think about this somewhat often actually, DA the "concert pianist". *is a music student*
Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words. More Chopin (DA loves Chopin), especially the Fantasie Impromptu in C# Minor, that piece literally kicks ass *__* Both of the Brahms piano concertos. George Winston (he and DA remind me of each other a bit when it comes to simple melodic composition). Schubert. Debussy. Pachelbel. Rachmaninoff (if he could pull off the 3rd...... :Q). And of course, Mozart piano concertos and sonatas (K. 545, K. 331 <3 <3).
In the midst of this I wonder how much he'd be suited/willing/able to do, etc....but I dream. xD;
I always figured if he played these he'd stay true to the original music, but would inevitably make them his own just in his style of playing, and that's why I want to hear him play something classic. I have no doubt he could pull off the 3rd. He's talented and he's brilliant. <3
Well of course, right? He's already done his own takes on Canon in D, Ode to Joy etc. I'd just love to hear him play something straight up classical for like a change of pace though.
Good lord if he pulled off Rach 3 in all its original badassery with just his two hands alone I would be forever floored. That piece goes into like the twilight zone of technical difficulty in classical piano. Like WTF. I think he could do it if he took the time to learn it, but I don't think even he could just look at it and play it instantly or anything (not that I think other people could sightread it either....).
