So last night just after midnight I got the chance to use all the nifty torches I've been stocking up on this year, when the Southern Suburbs were plunged into darkness. Ah! I wondered when that happened. I woke up at about 03h20 when our dvd player decided to start playing some 24. Our dvd player is a bit wierd, in that it starts to play whatever's in it if the power goes off and then comes on again. 3 hours? Wow, that's quite a lot, after they recently promised us that the power outages were all over.

Yes, I'm rather suspicious of their claims of cable theft. If it was that easy to shut down the electricity of the entire city, how did we manage to have power all the way through the 80's :)
