I had back surgery in June where they removed a "massive" chunk of protruding disc material. So technically my back is worse because the structural integrity of that disk is much degraded (and there's not much of it left) - however the leg symptoms stemming from that are gone and I am recovering nicely, so at least I can function (mostly) like a normal person again. Still can't handle sitting for much more than 45 minutes though... but I can stand for quite a long period so a sit/stand arrangement would definitely be doable.

I would hate to sit through a peer review though - those always got long :P (especially if the paper had to be read to those who hadn't looked at it beforehand).

Actually there are a couple of guys I see that stand at their work stations and have the big rubber workout balls for chairs. I'm sure you won't have trouble and if you do have to sit, just get up. I do that sometimes.

There's WoW on my computer, you know. If you'd like to use it while I'm gone I'll give you the password. :D

That wouldn't be welshing on the bet, you DO owe me WoW. I'm level 42 now and expect at least 43 + epic weapon by the time I get back.
