Port, caramel and salt

So, I've never drank much port.  I've never really had the opportunity and when I did - I didn't know!  I swear I didn't know what I was missing!  Recently I've had the opportunity to try a few and the combo that really gets my taste buds excited is tawny port paired with salted caramel ( Read more... )

I agree, whole-hearted. An aged dessert wine is godly.

Someday, you need to go to The Herbfarm.
They usually serve a maderia at the end of the meal that is at least 80 years old. You can also order a flight of ports, sherrys, muscats, or maderias for an earlier course. I've had the muscat, sherry and maderia flights, but not the port, yet. :)

See - I think I'm going to have to work my way up to that. I've only had the kind of Madeira that QFC carries and I don't think I've ever trid muscat. I'm not ready yet!
