Writing pains

I finished my original story finally. The one I said in September would take me about two weeks, heh.

Boring rant about my original story )

And you too! Sorry for being so silent lately. I didn't have my mind on LJ. But I saw your entry about The Holocaust Piano and I want you to know that I am waiting for it. ;-) And that my offer to help you with editing it still stands. ;)

I wish you could read The Outposter, but it's in Polish. When I am a very rich and famous writer perhaps my stories will be translated into English. ;D Then you'll be able to read it.

Btw, MS Word says that there is no such word as 'the outposter' - how does it sound for you? I meant a person who works as a guard on the outposts... What word would you use to describe it?

Oh noes! *is sad* I don't think 36 pages is all that long, by the way.

"The Outposter" works just fine for the context you intend. MSWord is not the last word in English, unless you're after the American audience. You could call it "The Outpost Guard", but what for? Your word choice is more contemporary and effective. It comes close to "The Highlander."

You're right, The Highlander is a good example. Thanks! I'm glad The Outposter works. It's actually just for me - or rather for that entry, since the story is in Polish and will probably remain that way. But calling it The Scout really hurt my ears. ;-)

First to wish you a Merry X’mas! Hope you and your family, friends (some of whom I know and should wish too ) are enjoying the closeness, peace and joy of the season. I should cut the New Year part out since we’ll get to that soon enough…haha

I must say you are very critical of yourself… perhaps it is because your motivation to write is tied down to publishing and the economics of it… methink, you might find so much more joy if you take a breather and give yourself more time, a lot more time, and then come back when your muse/mood and writing is at it’s optimum because otherwise it just killjoy and it will ruin your mood to write more later.

Just look at the commercially driven writers who get ruined because of their contracts to write more at a quicker pace because nothing beats a burning hot deal or look at the commercially driven writers who get lost into their art, and just simply ignore the glaring problems in their writing because they have grown arrogant and has too many yes-men in their team of editors/publishers ( ... )

It seems like you have a very challenging storyline indeed, I hope your muse will come running back when you edit, and you will able to fixing the problems you sense- you are definitely right on that, when the reading gets interesting, there's a kind of synergy to things and your creativity goes to work

I hope you never forget the fun part ('v'* it's the most important part to art.

PS. Thanks so much for the letter. I might need some time to get down to replying <(&c&)

Hey there, and thanks for the compliments. ;)
The problem with the visualization is that it is a huge file. It's 750MB. Neither mediafire, nor megaupload, nor other such servers I know accept such files. Gigeshare is the only one that lent_san (the person who originally uploaded it) managed to find. I agree that it isn't user friendly. Please, try asking lent_san, she is the author of the visualization - she is the better person to ask this than me.

Yeah, I know this program, but could you please ask lent-san to do it? I'm not an 'owner' of the file, I don't want to meddle with it. She should be the one who uploads it, I just place a link on my site.
