I usually listen to my father, but some advice he gave me today seems particularly potent as I sit here watching the Jeopardy teen tournament (second only to the Kids tournament in simplicity of answers...and boy are these kids zealous!), trying in vain to outwit my boredom. I decided to defer my dissertation until next year because of my health

I was watching the teen tournament and I heartily agree! I want to make snide comments, but I'm sure that if I had been on TV at that age, I would have been crazy stupid as well.

As far as your project goes, why don't you find a hobby? I might suggest learning another language? I dunno, I've been working on Spanish/French, and I've got Japanese/Latin in the bag (somewhat).
