Mostly Broadway and Movie relatedly ranting. Not too interesting, I suppose.

The only thing I really meant to talk about I suppose, is some Broadway thoughts. I hate how every show is based on a movie nowadays. I know, everything, is based on everything. But still, there was a time with more originality than this, wasn't there? It's depressing ( Read more... )

and then we do a musical, movies, review

Re: Megan Mullally needing to get over herself - directors usually decide on curtain call orders, no? I doubt that Megan herself was demanding second-to-last bows. I don't know for sure, but I doubt it.

Also, there is new stuff going on all over the theatre world...it's just...not usually *on* Broadway. You should come see the Bad Musicals Festival this summer (they're not bad, they're just naughty), there'll be new musicals every night for three weeks straight!

No idea what movie you're talking about, heh.

I've heard that some actors have it in their contracts what order they get to bow in and I'm thinking that might be what happened. Although...maybe Susan Stroman just had a lesbian crush on her.

Yes, I definitely will see the festival. I know there's a lot of cool things going on...but you must admit, being an underpaid theatre worker yourself that it's difficult to try and make money in this industry.

The movie is starring Patrick Dempsey and it's about how he was a womanizer who realized his best friend who is female is the one for him. He decides to tell her when she introduces her fiancee and asks him to be his maid of honor. So he tries to sabotage her wedding. I don't know why I care except I keep seeing the previews and ads for it EVERYWHERE. I can only assume it's less stupid than it seems.

Bender's Big Score, the futurama movie, is amazing. And may or may not have roughly the same plot...but also includes time travel, some musical numbers and a great plot twist! Yay!

Yes, it's difficult to make money in the theater industry. However, doing it for just the love while doing something else for money is perfectly okay with me (THE THINGS I DO FOR LOVE), so I don't know - I don't really care about that so much (I just wish there were some *other* way for me to actually make money...and hopefully there will be sometime soon...). Speaking of theater, I will be emailing you with the Jesus Christ Superstar audition info. soon!

I've seen Bender's Big Score, after much begging from my brother (huge Futurama fan). Wasn't all that impressed. I think I laughed out loud a total of two times. Maybe it was three. Maybe.

It's weird - I have not seen any ads for this Patrick Dempsey movie at all. I guess they're all in Times Square.

I really love your icon of the woman on horseback. It reminds me of Dani a little.

Uh, gee, perhaps that's because it *is* Dany?

Duhhhh.
