Fic exchange?

Nov 14, 2011 14:04

I just contacted overlithe on batmanjoker to see if she wanted to set up a fic exchange or kink meme/anon meme for the holidays. Now that I've finished my thesis, I have time to get my fic on again and would love to work with someone else's prompts (honestly, what I have is a bunch of stuff that will be loooooong and I won't have time in the break to finish them).

Last year for advent drabbles I wrote all batman/joker. Fun and tough- as they are not what one thinks with "Christmas".
This year, I am dividing up the advent drabbles with Ryan?Miguel(oz), Batman/Joker and Ray/Walter(thunderheart). I am not guaranteeing how many I am doing for each pairing. I have been roleplaying alot of Ryan/Miguel lately so who knows.
The problem with the batman/Joker community in general is that it is not a participating comm, unfortunately. Even the first fic exchange I entered(in 2008), I never got a fic back or even acknowledgement from the person who posted the prompts. I have been more satisfied going to multi fandom holiday comms and doing batman/Joker stuff but that's me. They usually have the secret santa. I participated last year, but didn't decide to take a prompt until the last minute and didn't claim it until I had already written the fic.

That is all true about the comm unfortunately. I wish it was more social and interactive. The first Secret Santa, I worked my A off then received no sort of acknowledgement from the prompter then one of my own prompts was claimed but no work was posted. That sucked. Maybe with enough hype of the new movie coming out next summer, others might be more apt to participate.

See- I THINK the prompter thanked me last year, but I too posted a prompt that was accepted and nothing was produced. I am worried that the new movie will bring even more flakes out of the woodwork, as when the comm first started it was all "Ooh-look at the new shiny" and 6 mos later they were all somewhere else. I wish i could say that the die hards are better, but no. It just isn't a participatory comm, unfortunately.

Well, Overlithe said that she's going to post the old prompts that didn't get filled and we can claim and write.

Jean--which fic exchange/comm are you filling? Maybe I should write more widely?
